This biography from the Archives of AskART:
John Winstandley Breyfogle was born October 23, 1874 in Louisville, KY. He was the son of William Lermartine and Zerelda Cordelia (Winstandley) Breyfogle. His father was a physician of homeopathy as well as being involved with a railroad.

Breyfogle married Phoebe Peters on Oct 12, 1897 and had one daughter Dorothy Breyfogle (born 1898). Of his daughter we know that she was reported to have studied art in Europe and became a professional artist.

Brefoygle's father wrote a book at the age of 51 years old titled "Sense and Satire", copyright 1899, Rand, McNally & Company, Publishers, Chicago and New York. The illustrations in the book are by Breyfogle and the book is dedicated to his daughter, Dorothy.

Breyfogle died Dec 05, 1947 in Largo, Florida.
