This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Judie Bamber graduated from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia in 1983. She works in a tiny garage near downtown Los Angeles where she paints small sinister objects on large monochrome fields. Her understated still lifes resonate with many more issues than their deceptively simple veneers might suggest. The underpinnings of the work, in many cases, are psychoanalytic.
Bamber has taught at the University of California at Irvine, as a visiting faculty member and at the University of California at Los Angeles and at California State University at Los Angeles.
