| | Born in La Chute, Canada on Sept. 28, 1849. Kate arrived in California with her parents in 1851 and settled in Butte County. She later married Seth S. Boynton, editor of the Oroville Daily Record. Upon his death, she continued as publisher of the paper. In ill health, she moved to the home of her son, Senator Albert Boynton, in San Francisco. She died there on Aug. 15, 1929. Exh: Calif.
