The following information was submitted by Jim Andrus: A painter in watercolor, pastel and oil, her main interest is in the landscape and she has kept extensive sketchbooks on trips to China, Europe, New Zealand, Alaska, Costa Rica and Mexico.
Kay always had an interest in art. Her background, however, was in music, having studied piano for fifteen years. The discipline of daily practice came naturally when she decided in 1972 to pursue the elusive watercolor medium. For ten years she worked independently, developing her own style. Then came various drawing, watercolor, pastel and oil painting classes and workshops. More recently, she has attended continuous private study groups with Joseph Mendez and Ron Pekar.
