| Born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Lawrence Barrett became an instructor of lithography and etching at the Broadmoor Art Academy from 1938 to 1952.
He was a student at the Broadmoor Academy beginning 1920 with Robert Reid and John F Carlson and later with Ernest Lawson, Randall Davey, Boardman Robinson, and Charles Locke. With Adolf Dehn, he co-authored a book, "How to Draw and Print Lithographs."
