This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| The following information was submitted in May of 2006 by Miriam
MacDonald and was given to her by the Centre Art Gallery in Hawaii upon
her purchase of a work by Beran:
Born in Chicago, Lenore Beran
has lived in California since 1940; studied extensively with Hal Reed
of the Art League of Los Angeles and with Ron Labyorteaux. Lenore is
past president of the Burbank Art Association, member of the San
Fernando Valley Art Club, the Beverley Hills Art League, and the Laguna
Beach Art-A-Fair. Her works are displayed throughout the entire
continental United States,Canada and Hawaii, where she has won more
than 50 first and second prizes in major competitions, and has been
honored with many one-women shows. Lenore Beran is best known
for her great versatility in the arts; she interprets a broad range of
subjects, with great technical proficiency in a variety of media. Her
works range from fragile, almost ethereal oil wash paintings to the
glowing mosaics of rich color and intricate pattern found in her almost
stained glass-like collages. This same versatility, coupled with a
superb sense of design, are the secrets of her great success as a fine
artist. Her great works have found their way into the fine collections
of Ms. Carol Burnett, Lyle Talbot, Richard Castellano and Mrs.
Englebert Humperdink.

This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Born in Chicago, Illinois, Lenore Beran is known for her impressionist oil paintings and collage figurative work. She was especially interested in diverse people and used models from many backgrounds.
Beran had her studio in Hollywood, California. She was trained primarily in commercial art, and took classes while she raised her family. In 1965, she entered a juried show where she did not win any prizes, but it launched her into the profession of painting for the public. She also published her own prints.
