| Leon Arthur Bellisle was born in California on October 30, 1891. While a resident of San Francisco in 1900-13, Bellisle studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. During 1917-20 he had an art sudio in Jersey City, NJ. By 1930 he had returned to San Francisco. He died there on July 29, 1950.
