| Lois A. Budlong was born in Wisconsin in September 1858. Budlong was a graduate of the Cooper Union School of Design in New York City. By 1887 she had settled in Los Angeles and was active there as a teacher. By 1910 her married name was Phillips and she was a widow. She died in Los Angeles on October 9, 1932.
