As a child Lorence Bjorklund lived near Fort Snelling, Minnesota and became familiar with horses and the military. He won an art scholarship to the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. in early 1930. During these early years he drew illustrations for the Western pulp magazines Bjorklund married and settled on Crosby Road in Croton Falls, N.Y. His studio there was full of cowboy and Indian relics for he strove for accurate details,his hallmark. Bjorklund illustrated more than 300 (showing 500 of 933 characters). |
