This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| A painter of cats, Lori Bock says: "I eat, drink and sleep cats. I spend as much time watching them as I do painting them." (Art-Talk, June 2002). One of her trademarks is the whimsical titles she puts on her paintings. She and her husband live on a farm near Abiquiu where they raise cats and dogs.
She began her art career when she attended an art-focused high school in Detroit. She studied ceramics in college and then taught first grade in Santa Monica and the Watts district of Los Angeles. In 1990, she moved to New Mexico where she began painting her favorite subject matter and made the transition from ceramics. |
