This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following, submitted April 2004, is from Mindy Zimmerman Colton, Orlando, Fl.

Of the artist, she writes: "He was my godfather. His wife Esther was my mother's best friend. He was a graphic designer and illustrator for Rockefeller Center. He created many classic logos and art in New York such as the famous Schraffs Restaurant logo. He studied at the Art Students League of New York. His brother Henry was also an artist and professional lithographer. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club. He left Rockefeller center to concentrate on his art.

They owned two Galleries in Rockport, Massachusetts. One was at 7 Dock Square. He belonged to the arts organizations in Rockport and the Throgs Neck artists. He died in New York, not sure of the date....70's. I think. He traveled to Israel many times. They divided their time between Rockport in the summer and New York in the winter and later in Florida."
