This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Born in Rochester, New York, Louise Brumback, known for floral still lifes, marine, and landscape scenes, studied at William Merritt Chase's Shinnecock Summer School of Art on Long Island. She was much influenced by Chase's painting.
Gloucester was a favorite painting location, and she traveled frequently to California. She was a member of several prestigious New York art associations, and in 1919 moved to Kansas City where her husband, Frank Brumback, was an attorney for several insurance companies.
They were summer residents of East Gloucester, Massachusetts where in 1912, they acquired about 10 acres of land on Sunset Hill near Rocky Pasture Road. She died on November 22, 1929 in Nice, France.
