This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following is from the artist:

I was born in Newark, New Jersey and moved to Maine in 1960. I attended Maine
College of Art; University of Maine, Portland; and studied privately with Vivian Milner Akers and Lajos Matolscy in ME.

After moving to Massachusetts in 1970, I received a Diploma and Graduate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and a BFA from Tufts University. I taught from 1986-87 at the School of the Museum of fine Arts, Boston, and from 1988-92 at the College of the Holy Cross, in Worcester. Massachusetts is my primary state of residence.

Since I've been drawing and painting from a very early age, my work has evolved from figurative to various types of abstraction. Although some recent works include mark-making and mostly obscured text, I continue to have a fascination with nearly empty, contemplative canvasses, where color and texture predominate.

I've had work in exhibitions at the San Francisco Art Institute, List Gallery, MIT, the
Rose Art Museum, Brandeis and at the DeCordova Museum. I've had many other solo and group shows throughout the country.
