| Born in Glendale, California, and a life-long resident there, Marjorie Boething was known for her floral still lifes. She studied at the Otis Art Institute and was a pupil of Nicolai Fechin, Edouard Vysekal, Ralph Holmes, and Roscoe Shrader.

Marjorie Adele (Buzzo) Boething was my maternal grandmother. She was born Marjorie Adele Buzzo on November 18, 1891 in San Jose, California, and died on October 14, 1972. Her mother was Adele (Willard) Buzzo; her father was Samuel Henry Broughton Buzzo. Following her graduation from college she, for a short time, taught school in Atascadero, CA. She married Ervine Edward Boething and moved to Glendale, California where she began her painting career.
