Studied at the Kansas City Art Institute under Thomas Hart Benton, the University of Illinois, Western Illinois University, the University of Kansas, Oxford University, the Cooper Union School of Art, and from 1945-47 at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center with Boardman Robinson. Taught at Brigham Young University, Donnelly College in Kansas City, and at the University of Missouri at Kansas City from 1977-84.
