| Mary Ballou was born in Iowa in 1912. Mary was the wife of Harry R. Ballou. While in Los Angeles in 1933, she studied at Otis Art Institute. She was curator at the Cleveland (Ohio) Museum from 1941 until her death there on Oct. 16, 1953.
