| The wife of landscape painter, Albert Bierstadt, she was a painter and lived with her family in New York City.
After the death of her husband, she purchased the Fifth Avenue mansion of Robert Fulton Cutting, who in 1884 had paid $190,000. for the "Vanderbilt Row" structure, reportedly the highest price in New York City ever paid for a house its size.
