| Mary Fitzgerald Beach was born in southern California in 1932. Beach studied with Eliot O’Hara while in high school, received her B.F.A. from the University of Colorado, and studied privately with Millard Sheets and Rex Brandt. She settled on the Monterey Peninsula in 1968 and currently is a docent at Pt. Lobos State Reserve ande Monterey Bay Aquarium.
