Mary Jane McLean Bullock was a noted art teacher in the public school system of Fort
Worth, Texas. She also taught at Texas Christian University and at a girl's camp in
Woodland Park, Colorado during the summers.

Bullock was born near Fort Worth, Texas in 1898. She received her training at the Texas Woman's College (now Texas Wesleyan University), Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated in 1920 with a degree in art from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. Bullock continued her training after graduation at the Art Institute of Chicago where she studied with Joseph Amadeus Fleck and Frank Klepper.

Upon completion of her studies, Bullock returned to Fort Worth to a career of teaching art in the public schools. She also spent time in Charleston, West Virginia and died in Fort Worth. She was buried in Corsicana, Texas.

Bullock was a member of the American Artists Professional League; Fort Worth Art
Association; Fort Worth Artists Guild; Southern States Art League, and the Texas Fine
Arts Association. Exhibitions include Annual Texas Artists Exhibition, Fort Worth
(1927-37); Annual Texas Artists Circuit Exhibition; Southern States Art League Annual Exhibition and the Fort Worth Museum of Art (1946).
