Beam also gives numerous workshops and begins her sessions "by
officially conferring the title of creative artist upon each of the
attendees." She believes attitude is a determining factor and
that creativity begins when one gets beyond just trying to please
others.
Beam is a member of the American Watercolor Society, and in 1996 and
2002 received the Society's Gold Medal of Honor. She is also a
