Conceptualist artist, Matthew Barney became quite a sensation among post modernists in the late 20th century by staging fictions through installations, filmed performances and stylized videos.
Barney was born in San Francisco, California in 1967. While attending Yale University, receiving a B.A. in 1989, he modeled for J. Crew and Company for a part-time job. He then settled in New York City. Barney had his first solo show, a fusion of sculpture and psycho-sexual performance art, in New (showing 500 of 1507 characters). |
