| Maurice King Burns was the son of my grandfather's business partner. His father wanted him to participate in the business (construction in NY State) but he was more interested in painting. He died fairly young in a fire in his New York City apartment where he stored many of his oils and supplies which probably contributed to the fire. He painted several seascapes as well as New England and New York scenes which he quite often left as presents to those he visited. One of his paintings that he sub (showing 500 of 883 characters). |
