A Russian painter and engraver, Mikhail Botkin was born in 1839 in Moscow.
He
studied at the St. Petersburg Academy. He is noted for a series
of works depicting Biblical subjects, taken in particular from the New
Testament, as well as for his genre scenes.
His work is in the collections of the Rumiantsev Museum and the State Tretyakov Gallery, both in Moscow. |
