Nicolai Bagrinowski (1938-)
Born in 1938 in Alushta, he studied at the Art Institute Surikov, Moscow (1956-1958), where he excelled as a student. He inherited his sense of taste from A. Deineka and A. Laktionov (subject and drawing). His favorite subject is still lives; for him, a still life is not a set of objects chosen at random but rather a set of things that have their own lives which connect with each other through their inner meaning.
He has participated in many exhibitions abroad, including the Collective Art Exhibition at Leiria Castle "Russian and Soviet Painting in Portugal, from Nicholas II to Gorbachev - 1991" supported and sponsored by "Galeria de Arte Roca" from Marinha Grande, Portugal, where works by Goncharova, Kandinsky, P. Kuznetsov, Larionov, Andrei Medvedev, Ilja Lvovich Tabenkin, and others were shown.
His works are in private collections in Italy, Germany, France, Finland, Yugoslavia, Portugal, and others.
