| | Born in Berkeley, CA on March 26, 1871. During the 1890s Briggs was a resident of San Francisco. She often studied with William Keith in his Friday night classes held at his home in Berkeley. Following the earthquake in 1906 she moved across the bay to Oakland. In 1909 she married John Schweitzer. She died at the Napa (CA) State Hospital on April 18,1958.
