| Born in Ragaz, Switzerland, Otto Botto studied throughout Europe. He was represented and sponsored by Contemporary Arts since 1936.

Otto Botto, a native of Ragaz Switzerland, studied in Paris, Lucerne and Munich. He came to the United States in 1922 and quickly achieved recognition in the American art world. His paintings have been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Carnegie Institute. He has taught at the Brooklyn Musuem and is represented in many private collections.
