| The following is from the artist:
Muralist, Rachel Lee Bertrand was born in Crowley, Louisiana in 1962. She was raised on a farm in southwest Louisiana where she began drawing and painting at twelve years of age. Her fondest memories are of her adventurous horseback rides through cattle pastures and rice fields, solo except for her dog and "King Ranch" mare. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1984.
She has traveled throughout Central America, Europe, Japan, Puerto Rico and Canada seeking inspiration and the experience of other cultures. Her landscapes often include water. Joe Masse of the "Cape Coral Daily Breeze" described one of her murals as "A serene scene, tropical in flavor." Her canvas work is primarily realistic and varies in subject matter from still lifes to portraits in oil and acrylic.
Rachel is President of Artworker Inc. and has been a resident of Cape Coral, Florida since 1997. Her work is in private collections in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Texas and other locations. |
