| | Born on April 4, 1878 in Memphis, TN. While living in San Francisco during 1900-1906, Borough studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. Following the earthquake, he moved to Los Angeles where he became a successful illustrator for Saturday Evening Post and other national magazines. He then worked as an advertising artist in NYC for Lord, Thomas & Logan until 1931. At that time he retired to his home in Rowell, VT and devoted his remaining years to portraiture.
