| | Born in Norwalk, OH on Feb. 25, 1907. Bechtol had painted in California prior to settling in San Diego in 1940. He worked as an architectural engineer at General Dynamics while painting in his leisure. He studied with Rex Brandt, Millard Sheets, and Robert Wood. He died in San Diego on Dec. 5, 1979. His work includes seascapes, landscapes, dog portraits, and scenes of Japan, France, Spain, Mexico and San Diego. Member: La Jolla AA; Calif.
