| The following is from the artist: (http://www.fortunecity.com/business/buseight/1606/index.htm)
A contemporary Surrealist painter residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma and heavily influenced by the works of Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Yves Tanguy, and Marcel Duchamp, and the first generation of Surrealist poetics, Robert began painting in the early 1970's.
Beal taught design by Michael McRuiz and Intaglio under Jim Corlett, Robert began his studies at Tulsa University in Economics and Commercial Art before transferring to the Fine Arts Department. After teaching Color theory and Drawing at Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, the artist left security behind to pursue his dream in the Surrealist endeavor. Influenced by the luscious landscapes of the Southwest and the barren plains of the Midwest, the 'Artist' has combined and juxtaposed a 'new' visual paradigm which incorporates the Surrealist metaphysics of Breton, Dali, the Pre-Raphaelites and the early Symbolists painters.
Among his numerous works 'Mindscapes' and the series of 'The Infinites' (after Yves Tanguy) transcribes the collective will of the Surrealist mindset.
