| Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Rosalie Berkowitz moved to Texas when she was eleven years old and became a painter of Black-American subjects. She studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy of Design in New York City and later settled in San Antonio where she was Assistant Director at the John Heller Gallery.
Exhibitions included venues in Texas in San Antonio and Dallas and Albany and Woodstock, New York.
