| | Born in Inkster, ND on May 5, 1892 into a family that dated back to the Mayflower. Ruth Lovell was educated in Minneapolis and studied at the Art Institute there. In 1916 she married Kenneth Bemis and in 1925 the family moved to California. Mrs. Bemis died at her home in the Westwood area of Los Angeles on Jan. 11, 1984.
