| The following is from the artist:
Shara Banisadr was born October, 1953 in Tehran, Iran, and moved to the USA in 1993. She was raised in Tehran-Iran in an artistic family of art collectors, musicians, painters, poets, politician and writers. Shara is a multi-disciplined experimental painter and sculptor who has traveled around the word and went to school in Montreal Canada; Paris, Madrid, Portugal and finally the USA where she settled in 1993.
She is very much influenced by 1950s American artists including Jackson Pollack and Willem de Kooning, and her work is a transition from abstract expressionism.

Technique: She pours ink over paper or canvas that allows the ink to move around paper. Turning the paper and adding more water, she uses a stick instead of a brush to create her figurative images. This pouring ink and the process involved is her trademark style.
