Biography from Jerald Melberg Gallery:
| Born in Rzeszow, Poland, Stanley Bielen studied at the Pennsylvania
Academy of Fine Arts from 1976 until 1980. He currently resides
in Philadelphia, where he works as a full-time painter. Bielen
paints still lifes in the loose, brushy style of the Impressionists,
harkening back to the work of Edouard Manet and Pierre Renoir.
Like the Impressionists, Bielen is not interested in achieving
photographic detail. Instead, he translates a simple grouping of
objects, such as flowers or fruit, into an abstracted vision all his
own. |
