| | Sydney Bagshaw was born on March 1, 1904 in San Francisco, California. Active in San Francisco in the 1920s, Bagshaw had a studio in the "Monkey Block" (now the Transamerica Pyramid) where he produced linoleum cuts. He later moved to New York and became successful as an illustrator for national magazines. He died in Central America in August 1984. | Source:
