| Esther "Tanci" Frances Bristol was born in Madera, CA on June 22, 1912. While a resident of Los Angeles in the 1930s, “Tanci” Bristol studied art at University of Southern California, with Paul Sample, Dan Lutz, and J. D. Prendergast. She taught at Spokane (WA) Art Center (1942), San Diego State University (1949), Los Angeles State College (1950-53), and at hospitals in southern California from 1959. The widow of Alvin Sion, she was a resident of Costa Mesa, CA until her demise on April 1, 2006.
Exhibited: Allied Arts Festival (Los Angeles), 1937 (prize); Portland Museum, 1939; Cincinnati Museum, 1939; California Watercolor Society, 1939-40; California State Fair 1953.
