| | Born on March 13, 1905 in Bad Godesberg, Germany. After graduating from the University of Cologne, in 1929 Baggelmann immigrated to Sacramento where he remained. He studied commercial art at Sacramento Jr. College, pen & ink under John B. Matthew, and printmaking at the CCAC in 1953. A specialist in California Gold Rush buildings and missions, he wrote 200 articles on the subject for various newspapers. One of his pen-and-ink drawings was presented to Governor Ronald Reagan by the Chamber of Commerce. He died on Dec. 12, 1990.
