Tom Bacher was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951. He studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. His working medium of phosphorescent crystals suspended in acrylic paints creates a unique experience for the viewer, as his paintings become illuminated in the dark. Bacher's studies of city lights and sunsets are ideal subjects for this innovative medium.
