| Bidwell was born in Kingsley, Kansas on September 11, 1904 and died on December 12, 1964 in Colorado. Earned a BFA from the Univ. of Denver in 1934 and a MA in Education from Colorado State College in 1948. Studied with Cyril Kay-Scott, John E. Thompson, B.J.O. Nordfeldt, and Walt Kuhn. Author of reviews for art magazines and a lecturer on art history. Curator of Oriental Art at the Denver Art Museum from 1936-39. From 1942-46, Bidwell served with the army. After the war, he returned to Kansas and was Head of the Art Dept. at East High School in Wichita from 1949-57. Moved to Briggsdale, CO in 1957 and taught at Colorado State College in Greeley from 1958.
