| | Born in Philadelphia, PA in October 1824. Bringhurst came to California with the Gold Rush in 1849. After mining for awhile, he had a commission business in San Francisco for five years. In his leisure he made pencil drawings of local subjects. In 1855 he left California and established a drugstore in Logansport, IN where he remained until his demise in 1903.
