|  Born in Norma, New Jersey, Albert Canter remained an artist active in that state, living in West Orange. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts with Joseph Pearson, the Grande Chaumiere in Paris, Rutgers University and New Jersey State Teachers College.
He exhibited at the Paris Salon, the Newark Museum and the Montclair Museum. From 1943, he was a teacher at the Orange High School and also taught drawing and industrial art at West Paterson High School. |
