This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Alberto Conti (1895-1982) California Watercolorist, Landscapes

Alberto Conti was born in San Carlos, Italy (near Milano) on May 28, 1895. While still in Italy he studied under Antonio Piatti for five years. He arrived in Los Angeles around 1930 and worked as an opera conductor. He specialized in landscapes and still life works done in watercolor, acrylic, and oil.

In the mid 1940's he moved to the Monterey Peninsula to concentrate on his art career. While there he was a member of the Santa Cruz Art League, Society of Western Artists, and the Pacific Grove Art Association. In the Monterey area he was represented by the Artist's Palette and the Beech Gallery. His works are in collections worldwide (including Germany, Italy, Central America, South America and the United States).

Conti died in Carmel, California on December 25, 1982.
