| Alyson Champ is a painter and graphic artist. She was born in Ormstown, Quebec and lives in St. Chrysostome, Quebec, both are rural towns about 20 miles southwest of Montreal and 20 miles north of the New York state border.
Her mediums are oil, collage*, ink wash, pencil, Conte crayon*, charcoal, serigraph*, and linocut*. Her subjects are horses, horse racing, animals, landscape, snowscape, still life, farm life and nudes. Her style is Realism*. AskART has excellent illustrations of her work.
She studied painting and drawing at Vanier College, The Saidye Bronfman School of Fine Art and Concordia University – all in Montreal. Alyson works mainly in oils, but also draws regularly and has recently begun experimenting with printmaking and collage. Although she enjoys depicting many subjects, she is especially inspired by animals, and they figure prominently in her work in all media. She places particular emphasis on equine art and is well known in North America for her works centered on the theme of horse racing.
Winner of numerous awards, Alyson regularly participates in exhibitions all over North America, including the prestigious juried and invitational shows hosted by the American Academy of Equine Art, based in Lexington, KY. Alyson has been an Associate Member of the American Academy of Equine Art since 2005.
