Born in 1954 in Delhi, India, Arpana Caur has been exhibiting since
1974 in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, London, USA, Germany, Stockholm,
Amsterdam, USSR and other countries.
Her works are displayed in several national and international
Museums including National Gallery of Modern Art Delhi, Government
Museum Chandigarh, Ethnographic Museum Stockholm, Kunst Museum
Dusseldorf, Bradford Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum UK, Glenbarra
Museum Japan, Hiroshima Museum of Modern Art Japan, Singapore Museum of
Modern Art, Deutche Bank Bombay and Chandigarh.
Among many awards, she received VI Triennele Gold Medal in 1986.
She executed two large murals for India International Trade Fair, New
Delhi, in 1981. She did the first Indian Mural on 'Environment' with
German artist Sonake Nissen in Delhi 2000, and on 'Time' in Hamburg,
Germany, 2000 and five Murals on environment in Bangalore, 2004.
