then building up layers with acrylic washes. |
Biography from Aurora Colors Fine Art:
| Barbara Conley has been painting for 38 years.
Born December 30, 1938 in Los Angeles, California. Style: Historical Realism
Conley's paintings are as easily recognizable as a personal signature. The themes she paints in meticulous detail are the subjects that surround us, those which remind us of a passage of time.
She has shown extensively throughout California and her paintings are represented in many private collections. Often en plein air, her primary medium is acrylic but she uses it in such a manner that it is often mistaken for oil. Although her acrylic paintings are most familiar, she also works with watercolor and oil.
She currently lives in the California foothills, painting the landscapes that surround her and the old buildings which are quickly disappearing with time.
Barbara has won many awards, the most recent being the award of Excellence at the Haggin Museum. She has also won the popular award at the Mother Lode Art show five out of six years. |
