| Born in Springfield, MA on March 12, 1878, Bertha Carew was a
pupil of Blashfield, Mowbray, and Wm M. Chase in New York, Carlandi in
Rome, and Mme. Richard in Paris. Having lived in NYC,
Pennsylvania, and Rome, she appears to have settled in southern
California about 1930. She was active there until her death
in Los Angeles on April 27, 1956.
