| | Born in Rushville, IL on March 24, 1873. Beulah Mitchell first studied at the AIC and continued at the ASL in NYC. At that school she met her husband-to-be, Walter Clute. After coming to California for the PPIE in 1915, her husband died suddenly. Opting to remain, she settled in Berkeley into a studio-home at 815 Gravatt Drive. She died there on Feb. 6, 1958. Her forte was book plates and illuminated parchments. Member: Calif. Bookplate Society; Chicago Artists Guild.
