Biography from Thornwood Gallery:
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1949, Bob Chrzanowski attended Mansfield University, completing his B. A. in Education, and the Instituto Allende, San Miguel, Mexico, receiving his Masters of Fine Art Degree in Jewelry and Sculpture.

His artistic career has taken many paths, including Teacher, Designer and Gallery Owner.  His paintings, pottery, sculpture and award-winning jewelry are in private and corporate collections across the country.

His work has always been recognized for it’s composition, new world imagery and sensual textures.  Throughout his career, his two-dimensional paintings have been in acrylic and watercolor wash on textured papers.  Over the last decade, he has developed an oil wash and acrylic wash technique on textured canvas, which allows him to create even larger, sometimes shaped and more 3-dimensional paintings with very special surfaces.

His subjects run the gamut and include figures, landscapes, florals, geometric abstraction.  The transparency of his paint and special attention to the surface texture make his work unique.
