| | Born in Breisig, Germany on Feb. 26, 1839. Conrads sailed to NYC in 1860. With the Civil War imminent, he enlisted in the Union Army and served until 1863. In 1866 he settled in Hartford, CT where he produced bronze statues until 1906. He died there on May 24, 1920.
