Biography from Blackhawk Gallery:
| Cathi Cook's career as a master prototype sculptor spans over more than two decades. However, it has just been in the past few years that she has focused her skills on her own sculptures, refining her talent, which she uses to strive for accuracy and detail.
In addition to creating her own original designs, she has been commissioned by numerous clients such as the Bradford Group, the Hamilton Collection, the Danbury Mint, Lenox Collections, the Franklin Mint, American Greetings, Willits Designs and many more including private collectors.
Cook has created miniature sculpture for Disney, Warner Brothers, Norman Rockwell, Hummel, Dreamsicles, Roman's Seraphim Angels and Enesco's Cherished Teddies and Precious Moments, which won Miniature of the Year.
Her focus is on realism and work includes miniature figurines, porcelain doll characters or a life-size renderings in various mediums, especially bronze.
She is listed in Collector's Mart Magazine "Who's Who in Limited Editions".
Cook's current project is a result of being a Licensed Artist and creator of Starseeds™ an original new gift line, and the Silent Night™ collection, a miniature nativity, both introduced in 2003. Her "Lucky Ducks" was chosen as the 2003 bronze sculpture for United Way.
In the early 1990s, Cook and her children, Casha and Zak, moved from the Allegheny Mountains to northern Colorado in the Rocky Mountains.
Artist Statement:
"I believe that all talent is a gift from God, and I am privileged to be allowed to share what He gave me with others. If through my work, I can encourage, inspire, or humbly bring a smile to someone, then I consider that to be a small token given back to Him." |
